D. Answer the Following Questions 12 QUESTIONS
A Table of Contents gives a complete listing of the topics and subtopics covered in a document along with their page numbers, allowing the reader to get an overview of the document and directly navigate — via hyperlinked entries — to any topic without scrolling through the entire document.
If this checkbox is unchecked, the contents of the ToC will not be protected, and its text can be changed directly on the document page just like any other text — increasing the risk of accidental changes to the ToC.
Type, Entries, Styles, Columns, and Background.
Customization of ToC means modifying an already-inserted table of contents according to requirements — such as changing its title, applying custom paragraph styles to entries, setting the number of columns, or adding a coloured/graphic background — using the options available in the Table of Contents, Index or Bibliography dialog box (opened via right-click > Edit Index).
LibreOffice Writer supports up to 10 levels of headings (Heading 1 to Heading 10). When these different heading styles are applied to the headings and sub-headings in the document, the same hierarchy of levels is automatically reflected in the ToC, differentiating main headings from sub-headings by their outline level/indentation.
A template is a preset layout that helps to create professional and/or formal documents easily. It can contain all the features a regular document can — text, graphics, and styles — and lets us save defined headings, text formats, styles, page numbers, headers and footers for reuse.
It saves time and effort — new documents created from a template automatically carry the same content segregation, formatting features, and appearance as the template, so there’s no need to add and format the same objects (like a logo or header) separately every time.
Importing a template brings an external template file (e.g. one downloaded from the internet) into the Templates dialog box list so it becomes available for use in LibreOffice Writer. Exporting a template does the reverse — it takes a template already present in the Templates list and stores that template file in a desired folder on the computer, mainly to share it with other users.
My Templates and Business Correspondence.
Exporting a template is useful when the template needs to be shared with multiple users, since it saves the template file to a chosen folder on the computer, from where it can easily be copied or sent to others.
The Accept Track Change button accepts only the single, currently selected change in the document, while the Accept All Tracked Changes button accepts every change made throughout the entire document at once.
Before sharing a document for review, the original author should turn ON the Track Changes feature by selecting Edit > Track Changes > Record (or clicking the Record button on the Track Changes toolbar) so that all edits made by reviewers get recorded. The document can also be protected with a password via Edit > Track Changes > Protect, ensuring no user can turn off Track Changes without it.
